Which is why trapping is more heavily regulated than actual hunting. Plus, trapping is limited, for the most, to nuisance animals.

Could his "cooperation" with the feds in investigating dogfighting get Vick off without jail time?

Mike is going to jail. The only question is for how long.
His involvement with gambling is a huge concern, especially to the NFL which has watched the NBA battle the same problem.
Not a good time for Mike. I pray for him and his family. He's obviously a troubled young man. He needs a hug and if his jackass father was any type of man, he would stop mouthing off in the press and seek out his son. This is a time when he needs him th most.

So... it goes like Jules Winnfield said?

    Vincent Want some bacon?
Jules No man, I don’t eat pork.
    Vincent Are you Jewish?
Jules Nah, I ain't Jewish, I just don't dig on swine, that’s all.
    Vincent Why not?
Jules Pigs are filthy animals. I don't eat filthy animals.
Vincent Yeah, but bacon tastes gooood. Pork chops taste gooood.
Jules Hey, sewer rat may taste like pumpkin pie, but I'd never know ‘cause I wouldn't eat the filthy motherfucker. Pigs sleep and root in shit. That's a filthy animal. I ain't eatin' nothin' that ain't got sense enough to disregard its own feces.
Vincent How about a dog? Dog eats its own feces.
Jules I don't eat dog either.
Vincent Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal?
Jules I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. A dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.
Vincent Ah, so by that rationale, if a pig had a better personality, he would cease to be a filthy animal. Is that true?
Jules Well we'd have to be talkin' about one charmin' motherfuckin' pig. I mean he'd have to be ten times more charmin' than that Arnold on Green Acres, you know what I'm sayin'?
    Vincent: [laughing] That's good.

    -----------

    the reasoning is THAT flimsy?

I don't see the differences that you feel.

You can't tell me there aren't too many dogs, too.

Still, I would suspend him now.

A suspension, perhaps even a year, is all Vick should get.

Oh, I agree. Little is fucking murdering scum. But it's a little late, IMO. Fucking soft-ass Tagliabue dropped the ball.

But then if you did that, you'd have to look at aaaaall the other players who got in trouble before Goodell.
Little did something much worse than what Vick did(in my opinion at least). But the fact of the matter is this. Michael Vick is a dumb fuck, end of story. Now do I think Vick should be banned? No. But Goodell's gotta do what he's gotta do and that's to send a message that says that from now on, I'm not taking any more of this crap.
