We all understand you hate Favre, think he's a drama queen, a king asshole, whatever. But you didn't answer the question. What's the difference between Favre and Jackson/Rosenfels on the field?

Are Jackson/Rosenfels going to lead them to the Super Bowl? Uh...no.

Jackson/Rosenfels might get them into the playoffs (9-7), where they'll lose in a wild card game. Favre gives them a much better shot at the playoffs. None of the three are going to get them to the Super Bowl.

    *Heavy sigh*

As long as Brad Childress is head coach, I don't care if you have the top 50 players of all time in their prime playing form on the Vikings, the Vikes are not a Super Bowl team.

    Not a snowball's chance.

So let's cease this talk about Favre coming to the Vikings because it will be nothing but a major disaster if it does (GOD FORBID) happen.

Don't ground me, Rosie, but he'd still be better than T-Jack.

You just made my point. They ain't going to the Super Bowl either way. So what's the harm in bring in Favre? You afraid TJack's feelings will get hurt? Do you just not want to hear about Favre for the entire season?

    Disaster how, exactly?

I think Favre would being a bit of extra juice to the team, maybe get some of the young guys fired up to play with a future HOFer. At the very least, it might get the Vikes on TV more later in the season with the flex sked.

    Sonner --

Most longtime Vikes fans don't want to see him in purple because they've hated him for so long.

I even asked one of my long-suffering friends if he'd want them to do it if it would guarantee a Super Bowl win, and he said no.

When I asked why, he said because then all he'd hear from Packers fans is how the Vikings couldn't win a Super Bowl -- Until they signed Favre.

    They're strange, strange people.

Fair enough. I guess I was thinking more along the lines of the rational Vikes fans. My mistake. :)

When you find one, be sure to let me know. :D

To be fair, though, I don't know many rational Packers or Bears fans, either.

Oh. That's very fair. Can't dispute that.

Sonner and Zeke, don't make me send you to your rooms. (Zeke, that means no Twins baseball tonight.)

This has nothing to do with rational - because any fanboi or fangirl for any team is not going to be completely rational.

If you think Yankee and Red Sox fans hate each other, well, they have nothing on the "no love lost" between Vikings and Packer fans. So yeah, Vikings fans not wanting to hear the BS from Packer fans is legit.

Forget for a moment that Favre is "Lord Favre on High." It's been more than ten years since he won a Super Bowl. He throws ill-advised passes. I question whether or not he really is a team player. When he's off, he's really off - not much different than Daunte Culpepper was. His age does not give the option of building a team around him.

Like I said earlier in this thread, signing Favre will turn away Viking fans in droves. And the bottom line, which I also said earlier, that until there's a legitimate coach heading the Vikings (meaning anyone but Brad Childress) and ownership which isn't going to hold the threat of relocating the team elsewhere unless they get a taxpayer-paid stadium, it doesn't matter who they sign.

With the quarterbacks available via free agency earlier, this never should have happened.

yes ma'am. I'll behave.....unless being sent to my room is a good thing. :)

I'm a Skins fan. Take everything I say with a grain of salt.
