    OK, I understand. Sorry.

That's a fascinating aspect of the story, but do you think we'll hear more about it? Certainly the question about the relationship should be asked to both of them.

You must be mistaken -- that would never happen in women's soccer. Seriously, 2000 Census figures reveal that 32.6 percent of May-September marriages involve current or former U.S. Women's National Team members.

I saw a clip of Scurry talking on SportsCenter. Don't recall what she said, but did anyone else catch that? I guess the blogger was wrong. Someone must have been able to flag her down before the end of the mixing zone.

You better have damn good sources giving you a good idea of the answer before you ask those kinds of questions. I love tough questions, but you better have something better than scuttlebutt before you throw that out there.

I think it's a legitimate question. Heck, I wondered "What did Briana do to deserve this start?" and then wondered if I should change the what to who.

Seriously, if this is all about getting back at someone for a failed relationship then yes, Ryan should be relieved of his duties. Heck, if this were certain foreign countries Ryan might be killed for something like this.

Think I'm kidding? You seen some of those foreign soccer fans? :)

No he wouldn't. This is women's soccer not men's.

Ryan's decision to start Scurry was just idiotic and indefensible ... and quite frankly, unfair as hell to Scurry. If Solo had been hurt, that's one thing, but you don't take someone who hasn't been playing and stick them in on a whim. It messes with everyone's head -- not just the goalkeeper's.

That said, Solo's comments ripping Scurry were way out of bounds. I don't let the players on my team of 10-year-olds do that, because no matter what, you're a team. If she wanted to rip into Ryan, she should have done that privately. Because doing so publicly makes her look petulant. As do the comments ripping Scurry. The "I would have made those saves" remark is why people are calling her a spoiled brat.

There are some disturbed soccer fans out there. And no, I sure ain't one of them. I'm spending enough time figuring out who's going to win the NL wild card.
