"I only wanted to speak of my own abilities yet also recognize that the past is the past. Things were taken out of context, or analyzed differently from my true meaning of my own words. For that, I am sorry. I hope everybody will come to know I have a deep respect for this team and for Bri. For all of whom I disappointed, I am truly sorry."

Too bad. Ryan should be fired immediately too. He fucked up beyond fucking up.

If I was hired as the next coach, my first move would be to make Solo the goalkeeper. Anyone don't like it? Get the fuck out .

 

Maybe the teammate deserved to be ripped. Maybe Bri should have told the coach that Solo deserved the start. Why didn't Bri back her teammate?

 

I sure hope Ryan gets axed for this one. Why mess with a team that had not lost for 51 games prior to this? He must have know Solo would not take this well.

 

Solo has been dropped from the squad for the third-place game. Won't be on the bench, but will get to enjoy the particular thrill of a flight home from China with a plane full of teammates who hate her.

Yes, and that's probably more deserving of firing than any other reason.

 

I agree, just curious what the feelings are here.

The contrasting view is that they are adults and that it is their decision to engage in a relationship. That also presumes that one would not make the other's life hard if they did break up. Of course, that's easier in theory than practice.

 

Is there any actual evidence to back up the rumors floating here about a past relationship or is that just idle gossip? If that is true it certainly puts a whole new spin on this story, particularly given how completely arbitrary and inexplicable the decision to bench Solo seemed.
