I heard a Nugget was also in the limo ... odds on who it was? Kenyon has taken himself out of the running, I guess.

Limo seats 23. Lots of people in that bad boy.

Guns aren't the problem. They didn't shoot anyone by themselves.

Access to guns is the problem because they fall into the hands of people who shoot people.
Which is why we need tight, tight, tight gun control.

Guns ARE the problem because people use them to kill people.

Exactly, which is why people shouldn't be able to get their hands on them.

Then guns aren't the problem, the bad people are.

OK. You win. Let's just let anyone who wants one have a gun.
Find a way to get rid of the bad people and I'll buy that bullshit argument.

I'm a dog lover but it's like the stupid fucking "there are no bad dogs, only bad people" argument. Your fucking dog is eating kids. It has to go.
No, the gun can't fire itself. But there would be a lot less shooting deaths without guns, eh?

You'd think gun lovers would be the most ardent gun control freaks out there because those bad people are giving their little toys a bad name.

Not much of a gun guy. You can probably tell.

Modster, I can understand your stance. But as a gun owner, I tend to agree with 3BF but I can work the middle ground.

I'll be interested in seeing what type of weapon was used in this crime. Was it a semi-auto assault rifle wannabe or a 9mm pistol with a 10-round clip? I have no problems with heavy restrictions on Mac-10s or AKs. But going after my bolt-action hunting rifles or shotguns is something entirely different.

No reason to get angry, Moddy. Find a way to get rid of all the guns and I'll buy yours.

I'm not much of a gun guy, either. Own a couple, but not a freak like some people I know. But I don't like any line of thinking that restricts my freedom to do anything. I can make that decision for myself much better than the government.

The dog argument doesn't apply here. Dogs have minds of their own and make their own decisions. Guns don't.

And that's a good point, IW. But assault weapons are used in far fewer crimes than a hot 9-mil or .45.

Not angry with you TBF. Just the whole gun issue pisses me off. You can get 'em easier than chocolate candy and people get all pissed when someone tries to do something about it.
Guns DO kill people. People use GUNS to kill people. Without the gun, you don't have the killing.
    Pretty simple.
    Again, not angry at you.

People who are willing to wantonly shoot others (I believe they're called criminals) don't give a shit about gun control laws. Maybe I'm wrong, though. Perhaps most gun violence is perpetrated by those who legally purchase their weapons after going through the requisite background checks and waiting periods.

This country has more gun laws than it knows what to do with. But it doesn't matter because bad people tend to break the law. Super tight gun control will only further restrict the ability of law-abiding citizens to purchase guns. Maybe you don't believe in a strong 2nd amendment; OK, there is room for interpretation there. But the idea that more gun control will equal less crime is wrong. It's more likely to result in more crime.

And for the record, I've never owned a gun and have only fired a .22 a few times in my life. I'm not a "gun person," but I don't believe strict gun control is the solution.

Edit: The easiest weapons to get are gotten illegally. More gun laws won't change that.
