I was asked to stop using a term because it offended people. I did so. This garbage offends me...plus it is homophobic...so please knock it off. Is it really that difficult to talk about this without using this term???

I hadn't used it anywhere in the few posts I had made on this thread; I just did it to rib you a little there. Wasn't meaning to offend. Bad joke.

As soon as the whole righty contingent quits reflexively using the "Democrat party" subliminal insult (specifically designed during the Reaganaut empire by the dirty-tricks brigade [Atwater, Rove, etc etc] to subliminally delegitimize the whole party).

I'm sorry if it hurts your feelings, but unfortunately I don't really give a fuck. As I've made it rather abundantly clear IMO one of the main reasons Dems/libs/progressives keep getting their asses handed to them is, they keep worrying about hurting people's feelings.

I grew up in the 1960s and 1970s. We didn't worry about hurting people's feelings then. And the U.S. got the fuck out of Vietnam.

How is it homophobic? You do know you can get teabagged by a woman, right?

I think that's loose leaf tea.

Wait, I thought you could teabag a women, not get teabagged by one. Am I misunderstanding the meaning of this.

Probably depends if there's some kind of "auxiliary equipment" in play.

I'm no economics major or understand the complexity of it, but Ragu, your explanation makes it understandable to me on what the U.S. is facing. We're nowhere close to Portugal, Greece, etc., but the way the government and the bureaucrats are talking, it sounds like we're about to fall apart. Europe wishes they were in our place.

Consumers are not spending and they have no faith to spend, which causes concern in Washington. I don't see unemployment going down any time soon either, Ragu. Some places or industries will see unemployment drop slightly, and then bump right back up a month later.

It's all about how much confidence we have with our pocketbooks and if things will improve. We tend to expect things to get better overnight, and are not prone to being patience for very long. Three years since the bubble burst, people are tired of waiting, but there is no clear-cut solution for it.

If you don't think people were already well aware of the debt you're foolish.
