The conservative concern is not "anti-business" interests, but rather those who use government as a means of advancing their self-interest, especially when that effort results in less wealth in sum. A perfect small-scale example is the D.C. taxi medallion controversy.

Between NAFTA, Commodities Modernization Act and repeal of Glass Steagall it sure seems like Obama should be blaming Clinton for the economic mess we are in and not Bush.

I don't think I've seen much emphasis on laying blame at all, except maybe to point out that the majority of the debt was accumulated in the years before he took office. Clearly there has been a steady drumbeat to move to a more "business-friendly" environment in this country since Reagan took office (really, before that with Reagan's election being the watershed moment of the movement).

Repeating my earlier point that Frum is a conservative who, if I were to have gone into politics as a career instead of dabbling in it as a polisci major in college, I would not have hesitated to work with/for. The starting point to judging somebody in politics as an ability to be self-analytical.

Obama has that characteristic, but he lets it work against him. He ends up being wishy-washy.

Be careful not to out yourself as a fellow traveler. Once the purges begin in earnest, even accommodationist Beckists and Bushniks won't be safe.

Another call for moderation from within the GOP. I'm sure this movement will not gain momentum any time soon, but it'll have its day:

As opposed to Joe Lieberman, who the left loves for his independence.

DJIA off its lows, but still down close to 300 as I type this, and oil retracing most of the bullshit move of the year's first half. Gee . . . the government's going to be spending less? Who's left to spend anything, other than the most-moneyed?

    Yesssss?

Which accounts for the Geffen/Feinstein axis plotting to poison his miniature quiche with polonium-210 at the next Carbon Beach fundraiser. Revanchist stooges!

I've seen some stupid posts from some dumb mofos around here...but one in which it's said that the left loves Joe Lieberman is not in that category because clearly it was sarcastic.

The DNC picked up a new sponsor today, upon some discoveries from the budget brawl.
