In its report S&P said political gridlock and a gulf between the two political parties made them doubt that a longterm solution could ever be reached. That was their biggest rationale for the downgrade, not the structure of the debt.

When did that gridlock start? With the appearance of what group on the scene?

Something else you mock, but is a big deal.

The cost & fear of lawsuits is real. Insurance costs are through the moon.

Legal costs. The additional, unnecessary costs to make products and places "safer" to avoid lawsuits.

Almost every business gets sued. (Knock on wood.) And, a lawsuit can put a company out of business.

    That's not all they said:

That would have all been true if the debt ceiling had just been passes on a "clean bill".

If cutting down debt were the Republicans' ultimate goal, then they would have accepted Obama's plan, which was much larger. But of course, then they would have had to accept closing of tax loopholes that benefitted their rich buddies, and made them pay a few more pennies in their taxes.

yes, there has never been any gridlock in Washington prior to the creation of the Tea Party.

Matter of fact, I don't EVER recall hearing the term gridlock used to describe Washington until just the last few weeks.

    Give me a fucking break.

I don't want to die from eating tainted ice cream. Is that too much to ask?

No one's died. No one is going to die.

Even the cases that AZ pointed to were from commercial ice cream gels and from frozen strawberries. That's the kind of products the state wants her to use.

She uses fresh cream & strawberries.

But, if you think you might die, don't buy it.

This chick is the classic small business person. Given a chance, her business could actually grow to be something big.

Here's something from about a year ago:

But, hopefully we can put her out of business.
