Memo to richies...eat more. And charity begins at home (you libs understand what charity is, right? Looking at the numbers of who give and who do not I'm not so sure).

Hundreds of thousands of teaching libs understand charity when they cash their paycheck.

The Koch Brothers are very charitable.

Nice to see they're back from that vacation their boss gave them a few weeks ago.

Let's see ... 10 percent of $20K is $2K, which goes towards food and the rent for anywheres from a closet to maybe a 1BR..

10 percent of $2 million is $200K, which goes towards the vacation house in Tuscany.

Which is more important to the overall welfare of the country and the world?

You're talking about taxes you pay in. Everyone is paying on ability to pay.

In your flat tax scenario, what's exempt? Will we be paying that flat tax on groceries? Gasoline? Children's clothing?

So I would assume you consider Texas' tax regime -- no income tax, no sales tax on majority of "necessities" -- to be more progressive than, say, New York's? ;D

And for half the population right now, there is no ability to pay. They're barely scraping by as is. And you're going to ask them to pay more taxes?

Let me clarify something I wrote earlier that maybe has been mis-interpreted. The great bulk of income, corporate and capital gains taxes are paid by a very small portion of taxpayers. And as far as I've seen, whenever someone's talking about people paying "their fair share," they are strictly referring to these taxes. I did not mean to imply that these taxes are paid by only a portion of those who are supposed to be paying them.

I'm also free (for now, at least, but for how long who knows around here!) to point out the incongruousness of taking business and financial and political advice from people with such questionable success. Especially since this is suppose to be a board for sports journalists.
