Burnout in journalism

I don't know what I expected, but he did not give off the vibe of a man who wished for death, or who even seemed burned out. He seemed like he just didn't want to do that job anymore.

 

I found the part where the Times was going to have him work on a newsletter project interesting. I wonder if dumping more work on an apparently stressed employee was the last straw for him?
