Can I be excused from that criticism? Because I was actually here trying to explain to people why others might see the current legislative efforts differently.

The potential number of lives stem-cell might save/ease is mindboggling.

For W to play politics with this is disgraceful.

No, for him to have not vetoed the bill would have been disgraceful. There's no ban on stem-cell research and you know it.

“This bill would support the taking of innocent human life of the hope of finding medical benefits for others,” Bush said at a White House event where he was surrounded by 18 families who “adopted” frozen embryos not used by other couples, and then used those leftover embryos to have children.

“Each of these children was still adopted while still an embryo and has been blessed with a chance to grow, to grow up in a loving family. These boys and girls are not spare parts,” he said.

I guess the 3,000 or so American soliders killed for no reason in Iraq were just spare parts.
What a hypocritical piece of shit this man is.

Bobby said he'd pull out Bobby stayed in
Janey had a baby it wasn't any sin
They were set to marry on a summer day
Bobby got scared and he ran away
Jane moved in with her ma out on Shawnee Lake
She sighed Ma sometimes my whole life feels like one big mistake
She settled in in a back room time passed on
Later that winter a son came along

    Spare parts
    And broken hearts
    Keep the world turnin' around

Play politics? This veto took political courage. He'll take a beating over this one and he knew it. He stood up for what he knows to be right.

What Bush has begrudgingly allowed re stem-cell is minimal , and less-valuable with each passing month -- and YOU know it.

This country was built on facilitating people's freedom . . . NOT on telling people what they can't do.

We flipped off the Brits, for their own brand of restrictive, highhanded bullshit.

W lets every whoring, porkbarrel bill gp flying by, to hype the economy -- and he vetoes this.

He can't suffer enough slings and arrows for his special, personal brand of irresponsibility.

Political courage? For what? In case he wants to run for dog catcher of Crawford, Texas?

Well, to be fair, he's not telling people they can't do stem-cell research.

He's just telling them the feds won't pay for it.

A subtle difference, but one that needs to be understood before we go off on a tangent about research being "banned."

Of course, many of our best minds are now working in other countries that are supplying funding. And those countries will be the main beneficiaries when the breakthroughs come.'

W wouldn't know politics from polemics. He's got Karl Rove's hand up his arse so far that Rove's five fingers are giving Angie Merkel a back massage through W's mouth.

    This is all Rove.
