    From the main article:

Dickel is a legitimate brand, made about 20 miles up thr road from the Jack Daniels place. Never heard of Georgia Moon.

One of these days, I'll tour the Dickel distillery... it's only open during the week...

loved "released clare (the voice) farnsworth, seahawks reporter"

when bob sheppard gives up his yankee stadium gig, clare would be a fine choice to replace the "voice of god." all of the shockeys grieve for clare and all the great people at p-i. :'(

  6. Coming late to this thread, but wanted to add my voice to the many others. It got majorly dusty in here. Damn. It breaks my heart as someone who so loves the business and is trying to get a foot in a door, any door, when so many are slamming shut. I hate knowing that we'll probably be seeing many more posts like this. It's depressing as hell.

One heck of a farewell, AB. So sorry, from the bottom of my heart. All the best to you and the rest of the P-I crew. Hope you all land on your feet. Stay strong.

True story: I worked at the P-I for more than a year before I actually met Clare. One of the nicest people I've ever known, absolute salt of the earth.

Went in today for my exit interview, and attempted to turn in my cell and laptop. The response: "Those are worthless. We don't want them. Go ahead and keep them."

I'm not even kidding. The equipment they gave me sucks so bad, they wouldn't even take it back. That's some funny shit.

The immature part of me really, really wanted to throw that piece-of-crap laptop off the balcony. But the better part of me decided I could at least donate it to someone who sends them to third world countries or something.

When I was a student at the UW, I saw Clare at the pro day for UW football. I introduced myself and he asked me to send him some of the work I had done for the student paper.

I picked out my three best clips, not wanting to embarass myself, and emailed them to him. He sent them back to me with some very insightful remarks and complimented me on my work.

Have to agree with you guys shockey and AB, what a great guy.
