I'll say this as a more seasoned gent...

Young men today are so much more flexible, kind, open-minded and equal partnering than my generation that it's not close.

Which makes me wonder why there's an impression, from young women, that young men have never been worse or unaccountable.

Maybe it's just social media capturing an emotional moment, but that tweet...I find it to be remarkably inaccurate of men under a certain age.

One other thing: Since Title IX, females aren't just watching sports, they're playing them, too. You pick up so much more that way.

Worth noting in Cam's apology to the general public that he never mentioned her by name, so it seems pretty hollow.

It's crazy to think about how much this affects both sides of this story. Newton (who took forever to make a "meh" apology) took a big hit out of all this. Rodrigue, who previously had an easily accessible Facebook account (which featured a picture of her and someone who comments suggest was Cam), hid her FB, closed her DMs and issued an apology and lost a ton of goodwill.

Pro tip for anyone who needs to scrub/search tweets. Just go on Twitter and type the following to find any tweets with a particular word:

(word goes here) from:(account name). Example -- pizza from:KDtrey5. That yielded this:

The fact that it is raised to this level is certainly due to social media.

People get on Facebook or Twitter to show everyone how morally outraged they are, and the next man or woman either tries to show they're more outraged or they play devil's advocate, which spurs even more morally outraged folks to scream out their moral outrage.

As a writer who is into scheme and minutiae, I think the key there is not to be judge-y and know it all. If you approach it with the caveat the analysis is one read from the outside and don't get out over your skis, you can do some good stuff. Of course, what's best, is if you can bring enough to talking with players, ideally in a smaller group, that the player will explain something. But that's hard in pressers.

And if you want to understand what you're seeing, you'll take some Ls in press conference. I've gotten some snarky answers from coaches thinking I was questioning them, but they end up being highly informative.

(We've also been dumbed down by years of lazy color guys, who bring certainty to things that are anything but, and who are trying to fill time. People have also been trained to not understand how limited a called play actually is. Probably the Madden-ization of out understanding of the sport)

It was kind of an awkward way to phrase the question. Physicality of routes? WR isn't allowed to be that 'physical' while running a route. Maybe, "Can you talk about Funchess' physicality and his improvement in running routes," would've been a better way to phrase it.

What do you think is Jordan Rodrigue's annual salary?
