She did some damn good work on her college beat. A move up was justified, IMHO.

I'm not arguing that. I had never heard of her before yesterday, I'll take your word for it.

Only taking issue with the columnist co-worker's portrayal of how long she has been toiling. Feels like a bit of a mischaracterization for effect.

    Oh my goodness.

This is exactly why you clean up all your damn social media accounts before you get a grown up job. Every damn time.

Should the Observer fire her for this?

Watching Cowherd/Leahy and Kristine is thoughtfully outraged about the Cam Newton comments. She talks about the struggle as a female in sports. She does not say a word about being the main sports anchor at the FOX station in Boston at age 24.

She wore the tight shirts to get the good reporting jobs and get the NBA players to be a source for her when she was young. Now she's wise and offended.

Just curious ... if you're 25 and on an NFL beat because you did so well on your college beat ... how old were you when you got the college beat, and what in the world could you have done in that short a timeframe that was so outstanding?

Considering that tweet is something the publication should have found on its own by researching her before it hired, I would hope they can be a little lenient.

Question. How many man-hours (or people-hours given the thread) should an employer spend looking through old Tweets? You get someone under 30 and they probably have 20,000 of them.

If it came out that an employee once wrote a check for the American Nazi Party five years before, would that be the fault of the company?

Eh, you just put "RTs not endorsements" at the end of your stupid-cutesy Twitter profile and you're totally off the hook.

I've done this many times in my position, when I've played a part in hiring. You take the twitter account handle (@blahblahblah) and you combine it with any number of swear words and slurs.

You usually catch quite a bit, and it doesn't take much effort.
