Can someone explain the obsession w/Ronda Rousey

If she's smart, she retires and makes movies. More money and you don't get kicked in the head.

 

Agree, but wouldn't necessarily "retire" right off ... just ease out of the sport and maybe into wrestling like Dwayne Johnston eased out of WWE as he was going into movies. Reason I say this is she might not translate onto the big screen so well like Dwayne did. If she doesn't, she'll at least have WWE to fall back on.

Kimbo Slice welcomes Rousey into the Octagon of Overrated.

 

No way Rousey retires after this. The rematch will make SOOOOOO much money. She would be forgoing millions. Now if she loses the rematch, yeah time to step away. (Also, the fight with Cyborg, also worth millions, just lost a lot of interest.)

But damn, Holm fought way better than I could have expected. No fluke. No doubt. Out cold. New champ.

 

You cannot equate Rousey to Kimbo. That's just ridiculous.

 

and she's way too competitive to go out like that. No way.

 

Probably will be better for the UFC in the long run. They won't have to depend on Rousey to carry the division. Have Rousey make a title defense in six months or so, maybe Rousey fights someone else to "earn" a rematch - maybe she decides to take a break for a year or so and let the women's division breath a bit before a monster comeback.

 

Sonnen said immediate rematch not definite, maybe Holm fights Mischa or someone. Would think rematch has to happen right away and would be a huge sell.
