Imus and his Stooges wouldn't have said anything to Summit.

I'm sure Stringer is a wonderful woman. She just mangled the presser. Big time. Did she crumble under pressure from the admin, or is she just that stupid? I have no idea. Either way, she blew it.

Well what would you have done differently? What would you have said differently?

Like Whitlock wrote, it was all about opportunism. They gave her a rare, national spotlight to promote her program, and she milked it for all it was worth. It was pretty obvious to me what was going on.

Funny thing Willie-Butch, the opinion in New Jersey and New York is exactly opposite of what you think.

I don't presume to know the opinion of New Jersey and New York. I just thought it was crazy to say that the upcoming meeting will be critical for the state of New Jersey. How? Please explain that to me.

That is one ridiculous comment. ..and I don't recall hearing it but I'm guessinng it came from Matee Ajavon.
That was hardly the entire press conference.

Could they not have just issued a statement rather than hold a press conference?

Hey, if they were really that hurt by the statement where a press conference was their means to responds and help heal the wounds, great—they have every right.

But, I just get the feeling there are those who are using this incident and representing “faux” pain as an opportunity to grab the spotlight and advance whatever their agenda may be.

  10. i was on the phone with two black division I assistant college basketball coaches -- one a man and one a woman -- during the rutgers recruiting party/press conference.

they were embarrassed by stringer. embarrassed. 15 minutes in they turned the channel and i had to tell them what was going on.

i'd have more respect for them had they not announced they were having a "private" meeting with imus. they want this story to drag on. they believe they're putting rutgers and women's basketball on the map. they're not.

No, it wasn't the entire presser. It was a silly comment that made no sense.

Not sure who it was, but it came during the Q&A with reporters following the presser.

Fuck me. I'm agreeing with Whitlock again. This madness must stop.
