Canada is actually a pretty nice place

Canada's had a pretty liberal immigration policy since Trudeau in the late 60's and we're fairly open door when it comes to refugees.

That's the biggest problem the Conservatives face: many first, second and even third generation immigrants and their families vote Liberal because they're perceived as the party that let them into the country.

The biggest problem is the transfer of educational credentials. The cliche about a doctor or engineer from Pakistan or India driving a cab in Toronto is, sadly, true.

  2. Kelowna/Vernon also has some outstanding tracks -- Gallagher's Canyon, Predator Ridge, Harvest, etc.

In Calgary, we are importing immigrants for temporary work terms. We need to.

LOL ... no, there's still lots of them up in Fort Mac. Calgary is going to be short 100,000 workers, particularly in the trades industry, by 2012.

If only that would work. Vancouver is in the same boat.
