I think that the upshot to this thread is the banner ad that asks, "Do underwire bras increase your breast cancer risk?"

If Jelenic did little in life to support those in the newspaper business, maybe he can do some good now if people click on the ad and support this site.

I used to joke when I got a section to lay out which had a lot of ads that "This paper's tighter than Bob Jelenic's fists."
The paper was really, really tight today.

    Hi guys
Paint here ... haven't posted much as you can see, but i keep an eye on you guys ...
I did alot of time at the JRC flagship [New Haven] ... i watched this man do what he did to SUPERIOR people ... especially after he somehow got his kid into Yale [take a guess who paid for that tuition bill ... hardworking folks from Woonsocket to Trenton to New Haven to Lorain, Ohio, that's who].
I read the flagship today - no longer work there - here's all you have to know about this son of a bitch ... they forced his obit onto A1 - about a 16 inch story [most interesting thing is they claim he played semi-pro football in Canada]. There is ONE quote in it - from him, a reprint from when he had to retire. That's this bastard's legacy in our honest, honorable profession. All knew - including the bootlickers like Jean Clifton and Bill Rush and Dave Butler who fattened their calves because of him - that he was on the way out. His ticket punched. But yet, whoever they found to write his obit, could not find one person to speak well of him ... that's your legacy Bob. You die, your obit is ordered onto the front pages of JRC papers, and there's not one quote from someone about you ... nothing!!! Not even some neighbor who said he was always quiet and nice ... That's your legacy you sonofabitch.
May God comfort your wife and family, they've done nothing wrong ... as for you ... well

Holy crap. Even Kim Jong-Il's lackeys in the North Korean government will call bullshit and think that was over the top propoganda.

I didn't work for JRC or Jelenic, so I have no personal insight to add.
I know that lots of people on here did or do and none of them seem to have anything good to say.

As far as being polite to the dead, I understand that line of thinking, but I don't agree with it. When bad people die, you don't have to be sad, you don't have to be respectful. You can even be happy that they are gone.

I don't work for any JRC papers, but I know people who did and they come out of there saying that they can deal with almost anything, because nothing is as bad as what they went through there.
I have been reading blogs about this guy for a while. I have read a lot of the things attributed to him.
And then I saw something from the Toronto Sun that said he was an accountant there.
My question is, how did a Canadian accountant become such a monster? Was there one event, was he just that way to begin with, or was he just a horrible exception (because most Canadians and lots of accountants are very nice people)?

You grave pissers have cause to worry. Really. You do.

  10. listen, I don't like it.

But cause to worry? what is that? Is God going to smote them down?

It's an issue that touches a lot of nerves. Let's not get overly dramatic

Listen, I'm not in the mood to give or take in a philosophy lesson. I'm looking for simple humility. Never to be found here even in the dire times, I see. I don't care if he was a double or triple jackass, he suffered greatly and died. And I don't give a shit how many posts you have or how much fucking snark you guys manufacture, you are not greater mortals.
