If you're trying to turn this into a battle of wits, I'm sorry about your luck.

 

Helms was a public figure who died of old age. Seems a little (but not much) different to me.

But I do see some irony in humor in the fact that you would come on a RIP thread and complain about people being classless, just because you have some axe to grind against the moderators.

 

As one Hollywood mogul said at the jam-packed funeral of another Hollywood mogul, "You give people what they want, they turn out."

On the general theme here, how critical should someone be in an obit? We've run obits of public figures (local pols, etc.) that list all their foibles, not missing a thing. Good idea? I think so, since we're in the business of telling the truth, not holding the hands of the family of the dear departed. And has any JRC paper, in the Jelenic obit, noted how his firm has struggled and how many have been fired?
