Well, Tom Petty said I'm a champion of wit, but I don't want to jump to conclusions.

I got no quarrel with either of you, but this isn't exactly championing the cause that we could have had a mature discussion of Bob Jelenic's flaws without it getting out of hand.

I was actually trying to draw the conversation away from Bob Jelenic.

Jelenic, 58, was the architect and driving force behind JRC before stepping down in November of 2007 after 20 years with the Yardley,

Pennsylvania -based corporation; "My 32 years in the newspaper industry have been extremely gratifying and rewarding," Jelenic said at the time of his resignation.

    I wondered that, as well.

I'm sure none of the JRC papers will write that. But I'm wondering if other obits, either in newspapers or in industry publications, will note how the company went downhill under his "guidance."

    ... and still, we're cousins!
    Identical cousins, and you'll find
We laugh alike, we walk alike,
At times we even talk alike.
You can lose your mind ...
When cousins are two of a kind!

No. No other paper will, either. As has been noted, newspapers eagerly report everybody's bad news but their own.

It's 2008 and the BJ era has officially come to a close.
