I dare a Pro Football HOF voter to step in here....

    You defiled the game today.

    I can't imagine the defense.

These assholes need to care just a little bit more about the game than this.

    And Fred fuckin Dean?

    He's much worse than Tippett.

  3. Andre Tippett

    Oh. My. God.

    130 receiving TDs.

    More than 1,100 receptions.

    13,899 receiving yards.

Nope.... Instead King and his double Macchiato assholes give it to Three-Six-Dean and Tippett.

  5. Mind-boggling, isn't it, Simon?

Shocked at no Carter, but I'm glad that Monk finally got in.

I know Monk put up some nice numbers, but was he ever feared? Or were opponents more concerned with preparing for other guys? A quality wideout, but maybe longevity was his strongest suit.

The Tippett choice . . .well, Dr. Z wrote back in October that he was in the same class as Derrick Thomas as a pass rusher. But I honestly had to look up both Tippett and Dean to remind myself i they were good. And Tippett's numbers ultimately do not suck.

    http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/T/TippAn00.htm

If his role was as a pass rusher from the outside linebacker position (I didn't watch those Patsies much; no one did outslde of New England), then he only had one truly subpar year. And if the All-Decade teams are going to mean something, Hall voters, many of whom selected those teams, need to be consistent.

Fred Dean . . . . I guess Cortez Kennedy needs to start wondering when he's getting in.

Carter should be there, period, exclamation point. And then . . Tim Brown should be too, though not on the first ballot [/Raidersfanboy]

It's about freaking time Monk gt in. He wasn't in a pass-happy system and still had great numbers for the day.

Chris Carter was just robbed. I mean, even if all he did was catch touchdowns, he did it as well as anyone ever. Nice call mustard.

And Piotr, in the NFL longevity should play a part. It's not like baseball where some scrub hangs around in the bullpen for years on end.

    Tippett, I don't get.

That's fair re: longevity. My thought was that Monk was never a major TD threat; Gary Clark was the home-run hitter, the feared guy. Again, I'm not that against the Monk pick . . but in a year in which Cris Carter was denied (which will make it harder for Tim Brown to get in), I think it's a WR pick that needs to be sold.

Lighten up, guys. Cris Carter was an excellent wideout, but they made Monk wait 100 years to get in. Carter can wait a year.
But I don't see how you can make four (Dean) or five (Tippett) Pro Bowls and get into the Hall. You'd need to build three to fit all the guys who meet that criteria.

Ahhh... the obligatory "lighten up" post.

Dude, I'm going out to Beni-Hana now... gonna have a great time.

But this is our business, and this is embarrassing in that "light" context.

    It is undefensible.

Considering how despised I am, the fact that no has argued with me here is wholly damning.

    Again, 130 TDs.
