We can thank DR Z who pretty much did his candacy in last year. Peter King was the one pushing for Tagliabue- figures

Riggins and Gibbs were the only Redskins from those teams in there. Now you can add Monk and Green. No Hogs are in, though Russ Grimm was a finalist.

Grimm had a great run from 82-86, making All-Pro five straight times and getting voted to four Pro Bowls. But injuries kept him from playing a full season or being a regular starter the last five years of his career. He didn't start on either the '87 or '91 Super Bowl teams. I'm sure that's gotta be working against him.

Joe Jacoby is the one Hog that might be the most deserving. He (along with Jeff Bostic) was the constant on those Redskin lines. He started in all four Super Bowls, and had the same number of Pro Bowls and All-Pro selections as Grimm. Unfortunately, Jacoby is probably best remembered as the guy LT is ran past before crushing Jay Schroeder in that constantly replayed NFL Films highlight.

  10. I'm damned if I can see any argument for Tagliabue.

    Ray Guy is pretty overrated.

Only averaged 42 yards per punt for his career. Not even in the top 3 all-time.

Only averaged over 45 yards per punt for a season once in his career, 45.3 in his rookie season. This season alone there are nine punters who have better than that as their average.

If Tippett and Dean get in, then Derrick Thomas should be as well. I guess he got caught in the "make up for past sins" voting philosophy of this group of voters.
