Thanks, outofplace. I'm sure there's something to your thoughts -- and probably others -- on the tackling stats, so that's probably not as reliable as a Hall of Fame benchmark. But say they're inflated by, oh, 20 percent; that's still 160 tackles a season, and some of that came in 14-game seasons. Then, add that into the aforementioned stats that seem more pertinent as HOF benchmarks, and, well, I think you've got an inarguable Hall of Famer.

But I'll continue to be wrong on that, perhaps forever. I don't think the voters know what the hell they're doing in Gradishar's regard, at least. But I'll settle down on this. Points by others here are well-taken; I think the total package adds up to enough that he should have been in years ago.

And those Wilber Marshall stats are awesome, as well, sleeper.

daveevans, that's all I was saying...that bloated tackling stats can't be trusted. You have much better arguments for Gradishar in your other posts.

Honestly, two things that got Carson in over Gradishar are things neither guy had total control over -- Carson played in New York and he won a Super Bowl.

  3. If Gradishar gets in ahead of Tippett, then somebody's blind.

If I had a ballot, it would look like this:

Cris Carter, Art Monk, Darrell Green and Gary Zimmerman.

You have to start wondering what game these guys have been watching.

    Pitiful stuff.

Fred Dean and Andre Fucking Tippett????

This is worse than any baseball snub I have seen.

Fucking writers just get their rocks off being stupid.

Former New England Patriots linebacker Andre Tippett was voted into the Pro Football Hall Of Fame?

This has to be a fucking joke....

    Is this April 1?

  11. What a joke to elect Tippett to the HOF before Cris Carter and about 50 other players.

I agree with the selections of Green, Monk and Zimmerman. But how Carter wasn't voted in boggles the mind.

Hell, you can make an argument that Ray Guy should have been voted in ahead of Tippett. Andre Tippett? I thought the only way he'd get into the HOF is if he bought a ticket. He was a good, at times very good, player. But I never thought he was one of the greats.
