If you're a true journalist or, perhaps more accurately, a lover of the language, it's not like you go "off the clock" and give up spelling and grammar when you're on a message board or writing a thank-you note to grandma. You're going to fight a VERY uphill fight in this place if you think otherwise. And if those errors are found in your "real" work, well, the hounds shall be released.

    Oh, and just for s&g...

I say we each take turns making edits, until we run out. Should last us a few days.

I completely agree. No matter where you are engaged in conversation, you are a constant representative of your own abilities.

Andy, by any chance have you ever worked in the knife business?

Good lord, Andy. Such arrogance with so many mistakes. You would be great performance art ... if only you weren't so clearly serious.

Arrogance + mistakes = NY Times. He's got less mistakes than the Cronkite retrospective.

    I'm flattered. Thanks Spaceman!

Although I have a feeling you don't love me for me, just that one post...

    Andy,

When you say "countless other publications all love my stuff," what stuff are you referring to?

    Hope you didn't expose yourself.
