IJAG, your company has a deal with Verizon for 10 percent off your total bill.

OK, Fuerte J, I can get you 1,250 monthly minutes, unlimited text, unlimited high-speed data (if you live in the coverage area), nights start at 7, free weekends, all for the low monthly cost of $49.99.
And you can get the new Palm Centro, a smartphone for $99 after rebates.

My service is through Unicel. Incoming calls are free, 300 peak minutes and 500 off-peak minutes per month and good reception in just about every corner of the U.S. Total cost, about $55 a month.

If you want bargain basement, try these folks:

I've been with AT&T wireless since it was Bellsouth Mobility, back in the mid-nineties. I've never had any major problems out of them, other than wishing the plans were a little more competitive with opposing companies. I've never really seen a reason worthy of leaving the company, but the deal patchs mentioned seems quite tempting.

I've had Verizon for 5-6 years and have never had a problem.

Yeah, um, er, I'll keep that in mind if I ever find myself single and that desperate for a good cell phone deal.

Trooper, I'm pretty sure Unicel is regional.

I've had them for years now, pretty much the same coverage as Verizon (Mr. Rosie has Verizon through work and we always seem to have the same signal when we're on the road.) I know Unicel and Verizon share towers. And the rumor mill has told me that Verizon will be taking over Unicel sometime late in 2008. I've been very happy with Unicel, no problems at all -- including the time my payment got lost in the mail, they shut my phone off, I called, they had my service back on within five minutes and waived the reconnection fee.

I have their national plan, 600 anytime minutes, 500 weekend/night minutes, free incoming calls, free incoming texts (which the Rosebuds love, they text Momma Rosie quite a bit), no roaming, a small data pack (very small), voice mail for about $55 a month, including taxes.

What's so bad about Razrs? I just bought myself one for my birthday and so far, I love it. A vast improvement from my Redneck Cell Phone, which was held together with a wing and a prayer -- and lots of duct tape. (Don't ask.) The Motorala Phone Tools program is worth the cost -- I've backed up my numbers, added wallpapers, added new numbers to my phone through the program, it's a nice little utility.

The Rosebuds have Virgin Mobile after a small time with Tracfone. Virgin Mobile has better reception, in our area anyway.

I have no idea what this "phone tools" thing is you're talking about...

Your Razr will soon be held together by duct tape. I'm on my third one in 22 months. The first one got dirt under the screen, and the hinge was shifting and would cause calls to end. My second one, they said there's a wire in the hinge that can get pinched or just stop working,a nd it makes your screen die. No way to save your numbers if they're not on the SIM card, which mine mysteriously weren't by the time AT&T stopped fucking around with my phone. So I lost 257 contacts. Fantastic.

    Cute phone, made for shit.

Motorola Phone Tools is a computer program, about $40, that you can purchase to back up your phone (contacts and calendar), make ringtones, wall papers, use your cell phone as a modem for your computer among other things.

Well, I have about ten rolls of duct tape out in the garage, including a roll of camo duct tape. That would make for a nice Christmas look with my red Razr. :)

I looked it up...it's not compatible with the RazrV3 that I could see. Just something called the Razr Maxx 3 or something.
