I guess we'll know if he gets it.

Of course, he might look at KU as the place coaches go to die and prefer to be able to lose quietly in Pullman.

I think Leach would embrace the idea of going back to the Big 12 and would be able to recruit Texas again. I'm guessing KU would be an easier sell to Texas recruits than Pullman.

Yeah Pullman doesn't have many selling points.

Anything to make KU-Texas Tech an interesting game. :D

According to the Gainesville columnist, Florida is not even considering Brian or Chip Kelly, Stoops or Gundy.

Take that for what it's worth, but it's not uncommon for an AD or someone else high up in the athletic program to let people know which names should NOT be mentioned as columnists.

It could be a smokescreen, but I doubt it.

I doubt it too. Pat Dooley probably knows more about the next hire than Jeremy Foley.

Two words on why Leach to KU will never happen: Sovereign immunity.

It's the reason his wrongful termination lawsuit against Texas Tech never got off the court. Two states have sovereign immunity, Texas and Kansas. Guessing he wouldn't want to lose another legal battle if he had another similar exit to the one he had in Lubbock -- or the one Mangino had in Lawrence not too long ago.

Who gets the Nebraska job after Pelini loses on Friday?

I'd think Mullen would be a hot pick there.

Pulling another name out of the hat, Paul Johnson would seem to make sense too. I suppose they might give Glen Mason a call as well, although IMO the NU fan base would view him as a Plan C option.

I personally don't think Les Miles is going anywhere. Maybe it's my Southern upbringing, but presently I see LSU as a better job than Michigan. Now that they've expanded Tiger Stadium, the seating capacity is comparable, and the history and mystique at Death Valley are similar to Michigan Stadium.

Plus, LSU may be having a relative dud of a season this year, but they are young, young, young, with some really good talent in the freshman and sophomore classes. I think most Tiger fans, if they were honest, weren't expecting much better than an 8-4 season this year, which is what they'll have if they beat A&M tomorrow. I think everybody in the SEC knows this was the year to "get" LSU, because next year and the year after, they are going to be filthy good.

And in that same vein, Les owns Louisiana as far as recruiting goes. Owns it, and there is probably more good high school talent in Louisiana than there is in Michigan, without any in-state competition to speak of.

And as has been mentioned earlier on this thread, he still has teenage kids at home who've grown up in BR. No, I think he understands that he's got a sweet deal at LSU and as much as he sometimes frustrates the fans down there, he's still well-thought-of and they aren't going to fire him unless the bottom completely drops out, and that's not happening any time soon.

Albert, I agree with you. Why should Miles leave? Everything about the jobs is comparable, and he's already there.

Miles is a U-M grad and supposedly expressed interest in the job in the past.
