I believe that you are making a very realistic assessment of the Nebraska football program when you say the next coach will win less than Pellini.

I also believe that the people responsible for determining Pellini's fate are in denial about that assessment.

Probably the long-term prospects for Nebraska, as much as anything else, depend on Minnesota and Iowa -- whether Jerry Kill really has the Gopher program going and whether Ferentz can get Iowa back to regular-contending status.

Presuming Wisconsin stays strong, if either or both of Iowa and Minnesota get going, it is going to be very very hard for Nebraska to consistently win 10 or more games. If the Badgers are the only other powerhouse in the division, it's a different story.

Before Sumlin takes a look at the NFL, he might want to stay away from four and five loss seasons.

They're paying O'Leary two bucks? What a bargain!

Morris will be like Malzahn, he'll be at SMU, one, maybe two years before leaving for a better program, assuming he does well.

    I agree, great hire.

To the surprise of no one, Texas A&M has fired defensive coordinator Mark Snyder:

    Muschamp to College Station maybe?

Yep. Massive underachievement, whether it's in the recruiting, gameplans, executions or all of the above.

I guess Mack Brown wasn't the entire source of underachievement at Texas.

That would be an interesting move. Go someplace where they need a defensive upgrade where the coach could leave for the NFL at some point.

I think the choices for Muschamp will be DC at another major school unless some smaller program wants to take a shot at him as a HC. I'm guessing he will be a DC.

Yeah, the way I see it, Muschamp will have to "rehabilitate" himself as a coordinator before he gets another HC job.

It appears to have worked wonders for Lane Kiffin this year.

I wonder how long it will be until Kiffin is a HC again.

Based on the names being reported as not being considered for the Florida job, I'm going to be really curious who gets the job.

I believe the local guys when they say a guy is not being considered. Telling them who is not in the mix is the smart move because it prevents boosters and fans from getting their hopes up.

I've gotten that call during coaching searches from the AD or a SID saying, "Take this guy and this guy off your list."
