I don't think anybody expects them to be done, but it has been strangely quiet. But that would make sense if they are zeroing in on Harbaugh or Miles.

One of the great college football events. Especially the post game parties Coaches, AD's , TV Execs, and Conference directors all drinking bourbon and doing deals.

Looks like Texas A&M WR coach/recruiting coordinator David Beaty to Kansas.

Was OC under Turner Gill, so the Jayhawks will recapture that glory.

I'm still stunned at how awful the Gill hire turned out to be. I thought that was going to be a great hire for KU.

    Two-fold answer Snake:

    1. Just as you said, he doesn't seem like a 61-year old coach.

    2. There is a select group of coaches (I would count 2) who UM would pay $5,000,000 that could be had......Miles is one of those two.

I'm assuming the two you're talking about are Miles and Harbaugh?

Considering it would likely take $4 million to get Mullen, why not spend the extra million and get a coach who has won a national title?

Since booting Mangino, Kansas has gone with the head coach hire to make the administration feel tolerant, the head coach hire for the big name out on a last BCS money grab and now head the coach hire of the assistant during the first head coach's tenure.

Only step left is, for the next coach in three years, to bring in Barry Switzer.

With ultimately the final step being the only one that truly makes sense -- the UAB step.

They screwed up this time by going after the wrong coach with Minnesota & Kansas ties.

There's only one man for this job.

I would guess they probably could have gotten him for a reasonably decent price, too.

Listening to Mason on the B1G network it's pretty apparent he wants to coach again -- if he does, he better get back into it pretty fast.

I don't know what kind of cheese he's making from BTN but it has to be chicken feed compared to any kind of FBS head-coaching salary. Whatever payoff money he got from Minnesota has to be pretty much gone.
