There were a few cases several years ago where guys wound up at some of the smaller Florida programs (FAU, USF, UCF). I know of an instance, as mentioned above, of a guy going to Mississippi State and another who wound up at Miami.

    Probably a good point.

Muschamp has interviewed at Houston, per the Houston Chronicle:

As long as they don't have a lot of transfers, it's not going to be a big class. They have just 12 slots to fill after Funchess leaving for the draft so if they keep the six commits they only need to add six more players assuming no one else leaves.

So which college coach is most likely to jump to the NFL to start Round II of the carousel. David Shaw? Jim Mora? Mike Gundy?

Alvarez now hedging, saying no decision has been made -- supposedly they are stalling a few days in order to at least technically comply with laws requiring certain positions be listed for a minimum time periods. As if any of those laws matter in Wisconsin anymore, ha ha.

Makes sense. Knew it was going to be a small class, everything I've heard is more like 16. I know they've had 7 decommits. In any case, this isn't how you want a recruiting cycle to unfold. I'm guessing they will have some transfers, as well. Coaching changes usually cause a few, at least.

A larger point for Alvarez is that Chryst will do EXACTLY what we wants.

For as much of a boorish personality as Alvarez is, I will bring up his biggest fear in all of this.

Wisconsin going completely away from what he wants and flailing around at 5-7 for a few years. This *did* happen to Bill Snyder for three years from 2006-08 and is why he came back to coach K-State.

Alvarez will be able to control his new coach and the new coach will do this The Barry Way.

Beat three cupcakes in September, if not four, go 5-3 or 6-2 in the Big Ten, win the weak Big Ten West, get blown out in the B1G Title Game and take 30,000 drunk fans to some second-rate bowl game in Florida.
    The Barry Way.

My understanding is it's a University rule that a job has to be posted for a certain amount of time before it can be filled. Technically they can't offer the job to Chryst until Wednesday.

I don't doubt that it's Chryst's job. What will cement that is that for the next four days we won't be hearing about so-and-so being a candidate.

Alvarez isn't an AD, he's the mother-in-law who lives in the same apartment building.
