Just imagine being 9 and crazy about sports in the middle of that tomfoolery. Only thing missing is my parents wouldn't let me stay up late enough to watch it live.

Some of my favorites, some of which were very deep cuts: The David Ortiz/Wally bit -- "It's not what you think!" Derek Jeter's razor, Drew Brees' Mardi Gras float -- "The gate is too narrow!" and the subtle genius of Landon Donovan vs. the copier, but my personal No. 1 favorite was "Don't Walk," the charity single cut by Fans Against Traveling. The seriousness with which Dan Patrick sings, "Extra steps will give you bunions!" is just hilarious.

EDIT: The "late-night filings" ad hits different, Putin Team and all.

Not sure if you mean high school or college and if I'm just ahead or right behind you (HS class of '91), but goodness, was the half-hour SportsCenter the best thing ever. Come home late and get the news of the day in a no-frills yet entertaining 30-minute package at 2:30 AM. It was a broadcast that rewarded viewers with a smart presentation and some eye-winking inside jokes. I guess it couldn't stay that way forever, as @maumann notes, but it sure was fun while it lasted.
