When these cars get 100 miles per charge, there is no question in my mind it will be my family's next car.

I look at these like Blu Ray players or any technology. When the Blu Ray first came out, it did not meet the needs of my family and it cost too much. It was cool, but not for us, yet. Was there any question I would own one someday? No. It was just when.

The technology will improve on these cars and the cost will go down. It does for all technology outside of CDs and DVDs.

Wow. 93Devil is in better financial shape than I imagined. Affordable, apparently means a $1 million concept car.

    Why is 100 miles significant?

My commute is 80 miles round trip.

Every consumer is different, but I think for most of us, the big point is the duration of the battery charge. That is the tipping point of these.

I think the tipping point is the huge price differential with high MPG gas cars of comparable size.

He said the technology improves, then the price comes down.

And that should be the overriding decision point. If your commute is 45 miles round trip, a Volt makes no sense.

We're up to 400 miles, still with just a half gallon of gas used.

800 miles per gallon has cost us about $18.

In the 15 mpg car we replaced, it woulda been $93.

In a 30 mpg car, it woulda been $46.
