    Somwthing else puzzles me: if she had all these ethical issues that people inside the station claim she did, why were they trying to negotiate a new contract with her before this broke out?

    Because there's a mystical and fine line between 'That Amy, she'll do anything for a story,' (chuckle and shake head hopelessly) and 'We're simply shocked, thanks to the keen video obtained by our competitor, which will cost us an aggressive reporter who would do anything for a story. We never knew how much this bothered us until now.'

    Depending on what the soon-to-be tried for murder hubby told this woman, she could wind up blowing the state's case. Not good. The defense is going to make her the focus of the case, not the husband/accused.
