How did the civil rights of the 50s and 60s have anything to do with gay marriage? That's what we're talking about here without really talking about it, no? I sure don't see what the chicken man did to blacks on the bus.

The "middle ground" that gays want is what every heterosexual adult already has. The right to marry who they choose.

Heterosexual adults can only choose to marry someone of the opposite sex. Gays already have that right. They want an extra "right."
