No different than someone who runs a snack bar being required to serve gay people. If you run a business, it's open to everyone. So, too bad for the homophobic wedding photopgrapher.

Such a fucking clueless take. Seriously this is just stupidity in its purest form.

Great name calling there, Cran. You seem to be the biggest pisser on that group from what I see....which puts you on the extreme edge farthest from the evangelical right folks I know. And probably the last to accept anything less than full blown marriage, a special National Gay Marriage Day and textbooks dedicated to it. Not a bit of diplomacy in your case every bit as much as the "homophobes." Convince me I'm wrong.

I find this an unsettling argument, but I have to admit that it's largely consistent with other arguments we've had here. Basically you're saying that if you're involved in any economic activity, you have no realm of sovereignty (for lack of a better word). You do what government says, period. You don't have to take that notion very far to get into some pretty terrifying (to me) territory with respect to government.

Because I am pretty sure this thread is about to get locked, I want to apologize in advance for any part I might have had in it's taking this direction.

Hey, you didn't invent sexual politics, just the chicken sandwich.

I sense the "New Mexico photographer" becoming the new "Penn State waitress".

And this guy is just flat insulting and offers nothing, including a pretty solid failure at answering questions. Tom, how many threads have you shut down with your personal crap? Kinda the poster boy for what the moderators say gives them headaches, no?

And once again, you've dodged my question, FWIW.

It's not your fault, doc. Cranberry's the one who decided that everyone who disagrees with him on this issue is a homophobe. The line for blame forms right there.

If by "realm of sovereignty" you mean "right to discriminate against people based on race, creed, color or sexual orientation" then, yes, that's exactly what I mean.

Pretty sure there are enough wedding photographers around that we don't have to force one to take pictures of someone against their will.

Heck, I know a gay wedding photographer who'd appreciate the business. Maybe I should play matchmaker.
