Yes, I noted before that this little Culture War skirmish has really drawn out bigots in big numbers.

Meanwhile, newspaper execs around the country remain clueless as how to seize the opportunity on this. Endorse one or the other, then promote a "Support the Paper Because They Support You" day. See if they're lining up at the gas stations for single copy purchases. Have your circulation department use the stand in calls to potential subscribers.

Ain't it great we live in a country where people can speak their beliefs and be called bigots? In some lesser enclaves of freedom, they'd be silenced and perhaps taken away.
Then again, there's countries where gay people, when found, are taken away and never heard from (see: Famous Ivy League speeches, Ahmadenijad, Iran).
Here in the good ol USA of A, they're just bigots and homos, each pissing on the other.

I'm of the belief that nothing like this happens in todays world without some major behind the scenes planning.

Likely that CFA hired a PR firm to give this whole thing a push. Also likely that someone in the Republican party was involved.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but I'm sure "Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day" was not a spontaneously-generated idea.

Much ado about nothing. A guy who happens to own a business states his personal opinion on something --- something totally unrelated to the business itself.

Some people agree with him. Others disagree and don't want to buy his stuff. Such is life. Not much different than the arguments that ensue over buying stuff made in sweatshops. Some approve, others don't. Life goes on.

This sounds to me like a swift boat operation.

The gay Chick-Fil-A employee testimonials about yesterday are horrifying.

Agreed. And they got it from both sides.

It wasn't. Mike Huckabee started it. He promoted it on his radio show and, more effectively, his FB page.
