I'm not one to often get involved inboycotts or support days like that.

But the fact so many people apparently did --- one CFA here had to close two hours early because it ran out of food --- says that apparently a lot of people agree with what Mr. Cathy said.

I can remember 11 years ago when conservatives were at an even higher level of apeshittery over a guy they perceived as un-American, and successfully drove him off network TV.
A hit HBO show, several successful books and hundreds of concerts (including his most enthusiastic sellout crowds when he performs in red states) later...boy, did they stick Bill Maher's head on a spike.

Fox News Channel has been giving CFA Appreciation Day a good felching today...given that Quinnpiac polls yesterday showed Obama hitting 50 in Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania for the first time, is this coincidence? I think we're past the economic argument, and we're going to be looking up at the gutter for three months.

I mean, I figure there was internal coordination from Chick-fil-A PR with Christian conservative groups about this effort before Huckabee made it a public thing, to the ultimate benefit of both of them. I doubt this was just something Mike Huckabee decided to do because he loved chicken.

What's your take on the Publix chicken tenders or popcorn chicken? I find them pretty good.
And the quality of the subs is good, considering you can do just about anything you want with the subs and just tell someone how to make it.

Yeah ... that would mean Rahm Emannuel is on the take for the GOP. He's the one who sent this issue viral.

    Wheels within wheels.

ETA: In all seriousness, while I don't think this was some sort of RNC/DNC/One World Order conspiracy, efforts like this don't happen in a vacuum. Corporate and political image is so excessively managed right now, I believe very little of anything is spontaneous or genuine.

Publix can do no wrong imo and the chicken tender sub is tremendous as well as crazy filling.

My father in law usually hits the CFA drive thru on the way back to the house after picking us up at the airport and it is our first meal in Florida.

The trip to Publix is made later in the day to stock up for the kids, wife and I.

We basically alternate every lunch between Publix subs if we are going to the beack or CFA if we are coming back from the beach.

I have found it's important to spend the extra buck or so and get Boar's Head meat. The Italian dressing/sub sauce is tremendous. Publix is the closest I've found anywhere in the south who can replicate a Northeastern hogie.

Boars Head is head and shoulders about all other cold cut meats. It a brand that is worth the extra money. Hopefully their owners are supportive of gay rights.
