I was offered free tickets to an Axl and a Bunch of Schleps show on this tour. But the friend who works the venue informs me that the schedule is as follows:

Opening acts: helmet, Sebastian bach will be offstage by 10 p.m.
Axl and a Bunch of Schleps scheduled to take the stage at midnight. When they last tried to tour, Axl re-earned his reputation as a prick who takes the stage when he damn well pleases, so we could be in the arena until 4 freaking a.m.

So . . .I don't think I'll be going. I saw them blow Metallica off the stage 14 years ago. I would like to keep that memory.

But it sure as hell ain't Guns 'n' F%&*in' Roses.

On that Metallica tour, they absolutely blew Metallica - with Hetfield only doing the singing due to his injuries - off the stage. And Metallica is always great. Andrew Dice Clay did the Guns intro at the show I was at.

Talk about a perfect day for entertainment . . . . . . .

They were a great band in their time. Hell, I have a bootleg (yes, I'm one of THOSE people) of an LA Forum show the summer before the Illusion albums came out that is absolutely amazing.

Now, it's Axl and the name, with a bunch of dudes he has recruited to put up with his crap. No Slash, no Guns n Roses.

Based solely on your statements (and ookay, after perusing some of the setlists online), I've decided to listen to the wife's pleas, and accept the free tickets.

I'm going on Tuesday.

EDIT: and I'm glad I did. Show was damn entertaining.
