    This is just messed up...

The one thing I guess I can see, there is always a profile for the "quiet ones" to be the killers.

How many times have you heard "He was so nice and quiet. He never bothered anyone."

Man, I am praying that it didn't happen this way. But it seems that another "quiet one" snapped.

The whole "family emergency" story could have easily gotten a guy of high stature and respect like Benoit out of a match, and yes, it seems that he had a good cover to go back if the report is true anout killing his wife Nancy one day and his son Daniel the next.

I'm perplexed now. I loved "The Crippler", now I have no clue what to think.

    Sad.

Dooles, I agree. The AJC writers and editors probably should have rethought that lede.

But I think you nailed the motivation behind it.

    My sentiments exactly.

I still don't believe the murder-suicide theory, though obviously, I'm still in shock.

I haven't felt this bad since the day they announced Eddy Guerrero died. Even that one was somewhat explainable. This is just bizarre.

Not that I ever agree with Mushnick, but that would be a total mud-slinging, lower that dog s#!t responce to a tragedy that really had nothing to do with the wrestling biz.

What's even more bizarre is the continuing sidesaddlization of a probable double-murderer.

That's a lot of people on there.

It's not mudslinging. It's a fact. There are hundreds of professional wrestlers who have died either working for Vince McMahon or having worked for McMahon.

    It is worth discussion.

Just my hypothesis: I think this raises an interesting journalistic question, given the rush for immediacy and getting the breaking news on any newspaper's Web sites first.

Used to be, the focus was on getting the just-the-facts story ready for AMs and developing the second-day approach for, well, the second day.

But now, with the emphasis on posting the breaking news online fastest in our 24-hour news cycle, are our business models shifting to putting the quick-and-dirty hard news on the Web sites on Monday night, then being first with the folo on Tuesday morning's doorstep?

Ditto. That's really, really, really creepy. Guy more than likely murders his wife and his child, HIS CHILD, people, and you're RIPing him in your sigs. Creepy to the first degree.
