Well, if it wasn't "roid rage" then may I suggest this:

Perhaps his wife found out that Benoit was giving his son way too much HGH to combat the disease OR that she didn't want the son to suffer any more.

Granted I didn't look at the syndrome that his son apparently had, but if she fought him on how to combat that syndrome then he could've snapped and killed her, and then upon realizing the gravity of it all, decided that he and his son should join his wife in the afterlife?

I don't know. This whole thing is one big mess and it will probably never be fully understood.

Considering Benoit apparently bludgeoned his wife over the back of her head, tied up her feet and hands, strangled her with a cord, waited up to a full day before smothering his son, sent cryptic text messages to his co-workers and then hanged himself hours later - a sequence of events that took about two days to complete - it seems like a lot more than a simple case of "roid rage."

This wasn't a quick, violent outburst.

Just my personal opinion, but I still don't think that the WWE should automatically get a pass on this until all the facts are in.

While its probable that the deaths had nothing to with steroids, they should still wait.

i'm not a doctor or steroids expert; but just because he wasn't in a rage doesn't mean steroids didn't have anything to do with his mental state.

    from one website:

  6. I would very much like a brain autopsy to see how much of this violent lunacy was a result of getting hit on the head.

  7. You can't blame steroids, Vince McMahon or the wrestling industry for what Benoit did.

He is accountable for his own actions, as we all are.

You're not the only one. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/27/us/27wrestler.html?_r=1&ref=us&oref=slogin

  9. Steroids and concussions would be great explanation .. if this type of shit didn't somewhere in the world practically every day, courtesy of some fuckstick who was not a wrestler, boxer or football player.

I just hope there is a hell.

    Yup, same guy.

He was profiled on Real Sports after determining that multiple concussions suffered during a NFL career caused Andre Water's death.

Exactly what I've been saying, Omar. To blame anything else is to lessen his culpability.
Sure, he used steroids, but there are thousands and thousands of people who use steroids that don't do this. There was something already in his psyche that allowed him to commit such a heinous act. Believe me, being the Benoit fan that I was, I was looking for anything that would explain his actions in order to preserve the image I had of him. But, the realization set in that Benoit must be held accountable for his actions. He alone murdered his family.
