Chris Benoit and family found dead

Discussion in 'Sports and News' started by HandsomeHarley, Jun 25, 2007.

  1. The phrase "Fox News" raises a similar question in my mind.

In this case, truth is really stranger than fiction. But I guess I wouldn't really know how strange the WWE's fiction has been because, until this story came up, I've never paid any attention to it.

Is it just me is this whole thing really starting sound like a storyline ... Christ, Days of Our Lives should be jealous.

Geraldo didn't help by a) getting the date of Sherri Martel's death wrong (she died a week before the Benoits, not day of) and b) trying to point to Kevin Sullivan as the thread tying this together. I love a conspiracy as much as anything else, but Sullivan going on a murder spree seems a bit far-fetched.

And if wrestling love triangle participants are in danger, we should get extra security for Edge, Lita and Matt Hardy.

At the end of the AP story they said the cops found "10 empty beer cans in the trash and an empty bottle of wine near where Benoit hung himself."

Looks like he needed some liquid courage to complete what he set out to do.

Well ... is it really out of the realm of possibility? Sullivan hated Benoit to the point he went off script in a WCW match in an attempt to injure Benoit.

But how would it have happened? Sullivan offs Sheri and heads for Georgia. Offs Nancy, holds the kid and Benoit captive, then kills the kid and blah blah.

Yeah, it sounds ridiculous. But I love a good conspiracy theory, too. ;D

Of course, then there are the folks trying to make something out of how happy Benoit looked in the 'last picture ever taken of him' ... at -- of all places -- his doctor's office Friday afternoon.

  8. Maybe all this was Ann Coulter doing a test run on what she's going to do to the Edwards family.

I don't know if anybody saw Chris Jericho on CNBC tonight Nancy Grace, but I swear he's been the best interview about this whole thing on all the shows all week. He came across clear, had the facts, presented the Benoits story well. They need to get this guy on all the networks.

  10. Jericho is a swell guy. He's a great showman as a wrestler and as a musician (Mongoose McQueen of the band FOZZY).

Adding a smiley face to a discussion of "conspiracy theories" regarding a murder-suicide. You stay classy Flash.

The Wikipedia thing (I hope) will prove to be a red herring. And judging by the empties, I guess McMahon will next blame "beer rage". It's a true tragedy.
