Don't forget, the mixture of steroids and painkillers can be explosive. Mix it with alchol and it can be deadly.

    A new take on Benoit's behaviour ...

    http://calsun.canoe.ca/News/National/2007/06/29/4299619-sun.html

Chris Benoit was a "delusional juice freak" who chased the dark side and had trouble distinguishing between his fictional character and reality, says the man who started him out in professional wrestling.

"The last time I saw him he was in pretty rough shape mentally," said Bruce Hart, son of the legendary Stu Hart.

"I didn't know all the details, but I knew it wasn't good. I was not at all shocked (by what happened)."

I'm not Mushnick's biggest fan, but by golly he nailed that one.

  7. Ebersol "turned NBC over to Vince McMahon" by telecasting the XFL?
Did I miss Brokaw in tights?
Mushnick remains a noisy, moralist crank.

I was wondering when Mushnick would weigh in.

Yeah, he's a noisy, moralist crank. But I think he's right in this instance.

He's dead-on nails with this one, FB. Especially with this line:

Imagine if there were a long-running, scripted TV series in which recurring characters kept dropping dead, for real, in their 20s, 30s and 40s. That would be the most scandalous story in TV history. But it has been happening in pro wrestling.

  11. I refuse to take apocalyptic culture-war nonsense seriously if it comes with a Murdoch paycheck. Sorry.

That's been Mushnick's soapbox since Hulk Hogan was wrestling in AWA and training to be Thunderlips in Rocky III.
