I really think the WWE screwed themselves over in the way they handled this, from the 3-hour tribute all the way to this.
They are going to be doing damage control for months, if not years.

I just can't imagine the WWE releasing locker room gossip as fact in the aftermath of this. There are times when STFU is a perfectly acceptable strategy.

I watched Fox News' "Hannity and Colmes" tonight because I heard the "Warri-ahhh" would be on after canceling on last night's

Well, the former Jim Hellwig had one train wreck of an interview with the two. It was like one of his old WWF promos without the makeup. Actually, Warrior already had a script ready and he was determined to go through with it no matter if the questions from the hosts gibed with it or not.

The general gist of it, I believe, was that he thought wrestlers taking steroids was no big deal (as long as they didn't abuse it) and the media has a lot of nerve bringing up steroids as the cause of Benoit going nuts and killing his family.

As much of an idiot that Jim Hellwig is, on this one he might actually be right.

    From the AJC:

Experts downplay ‘roid rage’ factor in Benoit murder-suicide

Even though his personal doctor prescribed massive amounts of anabolic steroids to wrestler Chris Benoit, domestic violence experts are downplaying the possible role of steroids in his murder-suicide death.

Steroid usage has been linked to angry outbursts called “roid rage” and depression when usage stops. But in the case of Benoit, who killed his wife and 7-year-old son over a two-day period during the weekend of June 24 before committing suicide on a third day, they see a pattern of premeditation.

Nancy Grigsby, executive director of the Georgia Coalition Against Domestic Violence, said: “It’s sort of counterintuitive that he’s raging for three days straight. Unfortunately it looks like a garden variety domestic violence incident to me. It’s a decision, and they actually are typically quite calm when they give themselves permission to do what they want to do.”

Kirsten Rambo, executive director of the Georgia Commission on Family Violence, said: “It’s exactly all about power and control. He was paid to be violent, and he took that violence home with him.”

Penn State University epidemiologist Gary Yesalis, who has studied steroids for 30 years, said: “Anabolic steroid rage is a spontaneous behavior. From what I’ve read, the death of Benoit and his family wasn’t spontaneous. I don’t see steroids had much, if anything, to do with this.”

“That was a premeditated act, and that’s not rage,” said Gary Wadler, a New York doctor who studies the use of drugs and sports.

Obviously 'roid rage might be ruled out, but it's way too soon to say steroids didn't play a role. The guy was taking a year's worth each month, the changes to his body chemistry and brain itself could have played a huge factor even if it wasn't a classic case of 'roid rage.

Re: Chris Benoit and family found

It appears the time of death for Chris Benoit's wife and son are being questioned in regard to which side -- Nancy Benoit's family or the two other children of Chris Benoit from a previous marriage will inherit Benoit's massive fortune, houses, real estate, etc. This was in the AJC today:

Had no idea that was in dispute ... thought the T.O.D.s were unquestioned.

    Huh ...

Chris Nowinski, who has done remarkable work in studying the correlation of concussions and suicide with ex-NFL players, has lobbied the Benoit family to examine the former wrestler's brain according to Sunday's Outside The Lines.
