Hey, shut up, newbie. How dare a person with one post comment on others.

I think they said in the documentary that chair shots to the head are no longer permitted.

Not me, thank you. I stopped watching shortly after Triple H drugged Stephanie and made her marry him.

I used to cover pro wrestling for several Web sites. Was fairly popular, well connected in the business and a had a lot of friends (not tooting my own horn here, just providing background).

I got sick of being a McMahon sycophant, got a job at a newspaper and haven't looked back. The product wasn't giving me any joy and opening up my address book and crossing out names with red pen once a month wasn't making it any more joyful.

Wrestling used to combine for 10s to 13s weekly in the ratings between Raw and Nitro. That audience is probably a fourth of what it was then, if that. I know the die hards are st ill hanging in but a lot of other have bailed. To be cynical, it's more to due to the product then wrestlers falling over, but some have quit watching.

Vince looks like steroids has helped him along the way. It would be ironic if he croaked.

Wow, those are nasty. I still remember that Rock-Shamrock chairshot (say that three times fast) like it happened yesterday. And if you look closely on that Hardy-Lesnar hit, you'll see Hardy actually clocks him with the hard edge on the back of the chair, not the flat bottom part, which at least gives a bit. Ouch ouch ouch.

In the case of McMahon, steroids affected his reproduction ability:

Honestly I quit watching because the product really started to suck when McMahon bout out the WCW and ECW and was left to compete with himself. I never watched the others, but the competition brought out the best in the WWE.
I tuned in once in a blue moon after that, and made an effort to watch the Benoit tribute show before the extent of what happened was known. I haven't watched it since, and I don't think I ever will.
Not that I ever took it seriously to begin with.
The best thing that could happen for that business is if it became unionized with a legitimate eye towards the health and wealfare of the talent. Until that day comes - and I doubt it ever will under McMahon - nothing will change in the business, even if something happens to the McMahon family. What it will take is McMahon being chaged with neglegent homicide or something along those lines, or for the future head man to come in with a heart of gold and say we need to do this. Unfortunately it will likely be column A that causes the change.

I still insist that the only way the business changes for the better is when someone either buys the farm on a PPV/live Raw or one of the really big names (Cena, HHH, HBK, 'Taker) is the one who pays the ultimate price. Benoit was a name, but (obviously) wasn't big enough for McMahon to be rattled and make necessary changes.

The sausage factory that is pro wrestling will find more mystery meat to build up. Until someone(s) take a stand within the industry and become Curt Flood, nothing will change.

No, his character, "The Blue Blazer" died in that stunt. Just like Vince McMahon in that limo.

You don't think it is hypocritical to bitch about the way these wrestlers are treated and then to keep on supporting it.
I have no problem if people enjoy this but imo it is hypocritical to bitch and complain about the state of wrestling and to keep on watching it.
