He must have a hell of a good reason for an elite Esquire writer to want to reveal himself as thin skinned and petty.

Maybe someone can only regain their soul if they are attacked on a blog. Jonesy is just doing Whitlock a public service.

Are you suggesting that Jones is Jesus?

Are you suggesting he is not? If Jesus did rise again, chances are he'd be bearded and Canadian.

You know, just out of curiosity, I checked out "bearded Canadian" on urbandictionary.com.

"A sex act in which a man dips his tool into a jar of Canadian maple syrup and smears it upon a person's face in a beard-like manner. "

I'm not saying anything about Jones, but. ...

and ragu, you don't need to hide your intimate knowledge of all things bearded and canadian by saying you had to go to urban dictionary to learn the meaning.

It has nothing to do with objectivity or whether or not I'm capable of it. I'm saying I support my friend in whatever he chooses to do.

Fair enough, but Chris makes a good point. A statement in support of a friend that communicates "I can't be objective and will always take his side" ain't exactly persuasive.

I'm not sure how "I support my friend" equates to "I can't be objective."

I don't have to be objective and I'm not trying to be objective, but that doesn't mean I can't be. Maybe there will come a point where Jones goes too far. I don't believe he's there yet.

I agree with you that I'm not being persuasive....but then again, I'm not trying to be that either.

Perhaps I'm not really offering anything here other than a counterpoint to all the piling on of Jones that has become the fashion around here since the carnies took the place over.

He says that he trusts that he must have his reasons. That's trust. Different from inability to be objective.
