Chess definitely is going to bust a lot of brackets.

Chess pie is the 30-game winner the committee doesn’t respect because of the conference it plays in.

Pumpkin pie is disgusting. And don't even get me started on that abomination known as pecan pie. Nuts are not sweets and should not be mixed with them.

    Mincemeat pie is absolutely delicious.

    Key Lime
    Mincemeat
    Peach
    Black raspberry

I have tried to be understanding through all the supply chain shortages, but the lack of egg nog may be what breaks me. I had to get the Fireball brand last night because it was the first I’d seen on the shelves in three weeks. Even without the namesake frat boy alcohol it tastes like it was strained through a vat of Red Hots.

Someone in this household was mistaken and thought I liked egg nog. So now there's an unopened quart of egg nog in the fridge that'll never get opened.

The best pie I’ve had was a black walnut cream pie. Devine.

I wrote a magazine story 10 or 12 years ago about the best pies in my state, and that was my favorite. I tried eight pies, one for every day of the week plus an extra because it’s always pie time.

I didn’t bother with a coconut pie because my mom makes the best, a white coconut without a cream top; I could eat half a pie right now. That one is a time consuming pain in the ass to make, so I get it maybe once a year at best.

I haven’t picked blackberries in a few years, but that’s a favorite in cobbler form. Tart cherries from the trees in our yard were great in pies or right off the branches.

I like pie better than cake every day.

I'm also anti-coconut, but I doubt the Daughters of the American Revolution will hunt me down over that one.

White's, which is just south of Boston, does an awesome strawberry rhubarb. I've been told razzleberry is supposed to be great, but I've only had a subpar frozen Marie Callender's version.

Any discussion about pies without mentioning grandma’s lemon meringue is a discussion not worth having.

You had to grow up in a certain area, but the fact Sugar Cream Pie has not been mentioned makes me sad for everyone who hasn’t experienced it’s wonderfullness.
