I'm afraid the Whole Foods Gluten-Free Fair Trade Ecuadorian 77% Organic Dark Cacao Hand-dipped Chocolate and Raw Bolivian Cane Sugar Marshmallow pinwheels are a great deal more than 88¢. A very great deal more.

Love that image of "young hipsters" driving into Whole Foods in their hybrid vehicles with NPR blaring. Little do they know that they are walking into a bastion of conservative think.

No doubt due to "fair trade". Have also heard they are slipping a little peanut oil into the mix to hopefully weed out some liberals susceptible to peanut allergies.

They should really just add more garlic to the guacamole since all liberals are vampires who can't venture out into the afternoon sun unless there is a free Yo Lo Tengo concert playing in the park.

I'm a liberal, and these both made me chuckle.

    Just curious about something ...

What do the Wisconsin governor's collective bargaining ban, Idaho's desperate attempts to replace teachers with computers, and umpteen big city mayor's pension fund woes all have in common?

We can't afford to pay public employees the benefits that were previously agreed to because of the UNBELIEVABLY EXPENSIVE AND INEFFICIENT HEALTH CARE SYSTEM we have.

Oops, sorry ... I'm wading into socialist and death squad territory ... :p

Hey, did anybody see Jon Stewart last night? Amazing handling of the "class warfare" tactic. But for me it was one of those nights when the FOX crap he was mocking made me so angry, I couldn't fully enjoy the humor.
Overall FOX point, MUCH better to promote warfare within the middle class ("Goddammn those teachers and their '98 Hyundais!") than "class warfare."
But while teachers, firefighters, etc. are all irresopnsible pigs, BANKERS and financial sector folks should not all be tarred with the same brush, because THAT would be unfair.
    The clips were just amazing.

If you want to be rich and being a journalist is stopping you from doing the things that will get you there, then what choice can you make?

I bet I could have hacked a bit out of that budget. But our definition of luxuries might differ.

Well, that's why I said "almost everyone." There are always going to be some people who just get dealt the wrong hand.

I did mean by American standards.

That's just it. No money was reshuffled. The chart is intentionally misleading, although it at least explains it in the text below the graph. Those people on the bottom have pretty close to the same as what they have always had. They've not shared in the gains, but that's not the same as losing something.
