Clearly, Versus didn't learn from the disaster that was Dennis Miller on MNF...

The old Dennis Miller Show on HBO was hilarious pre 9-11. His captions for the Colin Powell photos were a riot.

His radio show isn't bad at all. He listens to both sides.
Unfortunately, it got bounced in Pittsburgh because they changed the format of the station it was on.

Agreed. If you're a comedian and you're making the president off limits, then you need to find another line of work. Simple as that.

  4. What, was Jay Mohr's line busy?

And let's hope he leaves it off the hook.
The less of him, the better.

I'm still holding on for Miller. His "Off-White Album" was and remains my favorite ever standup piece. I was one of the few that enjoyed his MNF stint, including "It says here that Tariq Glenn squats 400 pounds. Now, I don't know what that means, I just like saying it" and espn.com's companion translations on Tuesdays of Miller's references. Just found out his radio show airs locally, and am enjoying the hell out of it. I guess I'm in the minority on the board.

Can't stand Miller now, but loved his early standup and HBO show. Still remember when he had Bob Odenkirk and David Cross on as guests, and the topic was friendships. Miller asked them what can come between friends.

    "Chicks, right?" he asked.

And David Cross said, straightfaced, "Anal rape."

They all died laughing and Miller said, "I remember reading that in Dear Abby."

"She reprints that poem every year," Cross replied.

    That was good stuff.

    Well said. Very well said.

I've seen Miller live twice: in Vegas and in San Juan Capistrano. Both times, he was hiliarious. His "Black and White" HBO special still cracks me up, nearly 20 years later.

But Boomer7's dead-on; the current Bush bootlicker occupying Miller's body is tiresome. The Clinton stuff is funny, but to declare the biggest political comedic gold mine since Richard Nixon off-limits is ridiculous.
