I'd give Chasing Amy an A+ for the first hour, but I really hated the ending...

I was disappointed by Clerks 2. was very excited to see it, but it didn't live up to what I'd hoped...which, I guess, would have been tough. It seemed like he was trying too hard to force "Clerks" stuff into the movie and be vulgar for vulgarity's sake. Not that I mind vulgarity...just seemed like he was trying so hard in this one, where the original was such a great slacker movie because it had such a "don't give a shit" vibe.

I've seen all his movies, and this one's in the bottom half for me.

wow. i thought i was the only one geeky enuf to do that. i have to admit a worse affliction, though -- i stuck around to read the acknowledgements that smith always puts at the end of the credits.

Where you saw the names of every MySpace.com "friend" at the very end of the credits. That took only four minutes or so. We waited through it all, to see if Jay and Silent Bob made one last appearance.

Anyone here see their MySpace name on the big screen?

I saw it Friday. It's not as funny as the first movie, because nothing is as funny as the original Clerks. But, it's a very funny movie. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. I'm probably going to see it again. The Star Wars-LOR geek off was really well done. The donkey sex scene had me gasping for air, tears streaming down my face.

All I ask in a movie is to be entertained, to get my money's worth. I felt that way with Clerks II.

I got my money's worth the second Jay did the Buffalo Bill tribute... That had me on the floor...

On the floor of a movie theater? That's dirtier than ass-to-mouth.

I saw it tonight. It was great, but I didn't laugh as much at the donkey show as I thought I was going to laugh at it. Jay's Buffalo Bill bit was the best part as far as I was concerned.

That's pretty much how I feel having just seen it. Some lines were real funny, but the whole basic plot seemed forced.

    Chasing Amy -- B+

    Mallrats -- A
    Clerks 2 -- C
Dogma -- Inc. (didn't see all of it)-
    Jay/Silent Bob -- A+

The Buffalo Bill tribute was great, but what always gets me is the way Jay says 'ooh!' when he hears the first note... like the way I might say that when I find a $10 dollar bill in a pair of jeans I haven't worn in a while. That cracks me up for some reason.

It got a little hokey toward the end, but I think Smith can be as hokey as he wants to be with Clerks, considering the career he made for himself because of the film.

And I've seen probably, at most, five minutes of all the Star Wars and LOTR films combined.. but Randal's anti-LOTR diatribe was freaking hiiiilarious.
