Clerks II was good, not great. And it helped seeing the original, which I liked more each time I saw it. Rosario Dawson is terrific in what could have been a cliche part, and Jay was solid. Dante looked too suburban to have been in this Jersey rut for so long. The "animal erotica" was some of the funniest stuff in the movie.

Well, let's put Rosario next to Phil Mickelson and see if we can tell then?

i really enjoyed it. was it a great film? no. but, hell, i walked away with a smile and felt it was well worth my $8.50

(and what is also really cool is that i can leave my house at 9:28 for a 9:30 show)

I loved it. Much better than I anticipated. Clerks is one of my favorites, so I figured this would be just OK. But there are some very funny jokes, if you're not sensitive like Joel Siegel. Randal's racism, especially, a good update on the Star Wars fanboy speech from the first, and the "heart" Smith put in wasn't phoney. There are people like these guys, though few, if any, would stoop to working the grill at Mickey D's.

Overall, very, very solid. Highly recommend it to any Smith fans. Also, highly recommend "Little Miss Sunshine." Saw the preview last week. I was crying I was laughing so hard.

For clairty's sake, let me put forth that I used that photo just because of the shocked look on both faces after yet another cheese cracker comment. Rosario's not hot? Watch her dancing in the movie and come back.

    Just saw it... My thoughts...

Smith should never do a movie with Brian O'Halloran, Jeff Anderson or his wife ever again... None of them can act for shit...

Jason Mewes has never lost his ability to make me laugh my ass off... The Buffalo Bill tribute is fucking priceless. Does anyone know the name of that song?

I'd give the movie a solid B. It's definitely not as good as the original.

Mizzou, to be fair, the original was so surprisingly good that it was going to be hard to top. ... I was a little concerned at first, in the opening minutes, that they were going to try too hard throughout the movie. But it settled into a nice flow ... definitely well worth my money.

I thought Anderson did a really good job. Much more fleshed out than the first. O'Halloran is terrible.

I, too, thought Anderson was pretty good.

O'Halloran seemed more forced that in the first one.

And, I suppose it's nice to have your wife in your movie. But she really can't act. Of course, she's a former journalist. And I'm sure most of us can't act, either. I know I can't.
