The bill's a bit much - especially related to private businesses.

But so long as free chargers are being transitioned to paid kiosks - as the glib, arrogant commentary has to concede - I think the days of the free public chargers can end.

What about all those free sidewalk phone chargers in New York City?

Do we need to tear those out, too?

Lol. The bill is more than a bit much. It's the heavy-handed, arbitrary regulation of a business putting in 'free' kiosks to attract customers into their store. My next car, if it's not a convertible, will be an EV. I will be happy to pay to charge it if I'm on a long trip. But if someone offers me a free hookup, and I have to sit there for 20 minutes or half an hour, I will spend money in their establishment. Sort of like using the toilet in McDonald's when you got to go.
If there's a lesser demand for gas stations and businesses want to attract travelers in, why can't they put in free charging stations and pay the electric bill themselves? Too woke? FFS

As an aside, glib (and/or arrogant) is default wisecrack stylebook for enthusiast magazines like Car and Driver or Road and Track or Motor Trend. Especially online.

When I write a "bit much," I'm writing I don't agree with that part of the bill.
